About

I am a studio-based full-time artist living in Queensland. I started painting in 1998, inspired by an exhibition of Emily Kngwarreye's work. Although I have painted landscapes and portraits my work is now, and has been since 2000, abstract and geometric.

My current work is consistent with my ongoing exploration into the use of a variety of found and discarded objects to create geometrical artworks with lines and rhythms. I work with wooden boxes from Europe, rulers and other measuring devices, wire and metal objects and other bits and pieces that appeal to me. I utilise the evidence left by past usage and other kinds of manipulation and handling to bring these materials into another realm and another public.

Any time away from my studio is spent gathering materials and getting inspiration from a variety of sources.
